Commander Shepard Meets My Little Pony in Pony Effect 2

The suicide mission faced by the crew of the Normandy in Mass Effect 2 doesn’t seem nearly as threatening when it looks like this.

I’m not sure what it is about Hasbro’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that makes it pure gold for mashups with darker, more serious series. Perhaps it’s the expressive, colorful animation, or perhaps it’s simply the inherent silliness of adorable humanized ponies discussing matters of life and death.

Either way, it worked to fantastic effect with the Skyrim trailer, and as you can see here it fares just as well when set against the audio from Mass Effect 2.

This trailer manages the very unique feat of making me want to both play Mass Effect 2 and watch My Little Pony, preferably simultaneously. Though I fear that might lead to some rather crossed wires – I could spend ages trying to customize my Shepard before realizing that there’s no option for “cute little magical symbol on the butt.”

Or is there?
