Time Is Running Out on Molyneux’s Godus Kickstarter

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

Peter Molyneux’s god game has only 3 Kickstarter days to go.

With three days left on the Kickstarter clock and still short about Ā£80,000 ($130,000), more or less, Peter Molyneux’s 22 Cans has put up a new game play video for its god game Godus. Marvel at what two weeks of coding can produce, and wonder what might happen if this thing actually got funded.

Exclusive homeworld totems and your face on Curiosity are on offer, should you choose to back Molyneux’s project. Full details can be found on the Kickstarter page. The game has already attracted favorable attention from industry peers, among them Notch of Minecraft fame, who has Tweeted his enthusiasm for the project and put some of his own cash down.

Godus promises to be an interesting reimagining of the god game genre Molyneux made popular with Populous. “Godus blends the power, growth and scope of Populous,” the Kickstarter description claims, “with the detailed construction and multiplayer excitement of Dungeon Keeper and the intuitive interface and technical innovation of Black & White.” Whether it will or no, it has only a short time left to make bank.
