Ubisoft Draws Down Call of Juarez: Gunslinger Reveal

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

The Call of Juarez: Gunslinger reveal trailer has made its choice. Now it’s your turn.

John Wesley Hardin. Billy the Kid. Jesse James. At some point during your journey through the legendary Wild West in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, you will presumably have the opportunity to put bullets in them all. Or maybe you’ll help them put bullets into other people. It’s not really clear in this reveal trailer, but what is clear is that a lot of dudes will eat a lot of lead when you ride into town. Because when justice comes from the barrel of a gun, only barrels will have justice. Or bullets. Justicebullets.

Gunslinger will return Call of Juarez to its Wild West roots after the series took a hard left turn into Disasterville with Call of Juarez: The Cartel, which came out in 2011 to nearly universal negative reviews. I’m glad to see it; the idea of Cartel wasn’t inherently bad, but who wouldn’t rather be the Stranger, meting out the hot lead of justice to the worst kind of deserving scumbags? Austrian assault rifles are nice, but sometimes what you really want is a nice, fat, America-made hog-leg.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is slated to come out later this year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
