Australian Gamers Struggling Under Ubisoft DRM

Gamers in Australia have been unable to play Settlers 7 since last week, thanks to issues with the Ubisoft authentication servers.

Ubisoft’s controversial DRM policy continues to prevent gamers from playing their games due to server issues; this time the problem lies with the Settlers 7 servers which have been down since last Thursday. Ubisoft has said that it will try to get to the bottom of the problem, but as yet, gamers are still having problems.

This comes just weeks after the Asassassin’s Creed 2 servers when down in Europe, making it twice in a single month that the servers have suffered prolonged downtime. It’s still early days for the system, and you can only assume that it will eventually improve, but while the system requires a constant internet connection, this will continue to be a problem.
