Mayfair Games has started the crowdfunding campaign for the deluxe edition of Cones of Dunshire; I call Ledgerman.
What started out as a joke about Parks and Recreation‘s character Ben Wyatt having too much time on his hands has now become a real release of the game, Cones of Dunshire. Mayfair Games has just started its Kickstarter campaign for the deluxe edition of the game, which was shown off at Gen Con 2014.
However, this edition has a high price tag and may only fall into the range of “Treat Yo Self” purchases. Only pledges of $500 or more include a copy of the deluxe game, which includes the new characters developed specifically for the Gen Con 2014 charity event. The special, giant carpet that was used as a sized-up game board is available as well, but there’s only one, and it’s only included in the $3,500 pledge.
In the past Bob Carty, Mayfair vice president of sales and marketing, has said there will also be a regular edition of the game. At the time he said the company was considering crowdfunding a deluxe edition of the game – that’s where we’re at now. If you don’t have the funds to throw on a silly, convoluted tabletop game, you can wait for the regular edition of the game. However, there are still pledges you can make toward the deluxe edition even if you don’t want to buy the game. Posters, pins, shirts, the Ledgerman hat, and more are just a few things you can add to an order.
The Kickstarter campaign’s goal is $300,000 and ends in one month on Mar. 15.
