Bandai Namco has announced Pac-Man Museum+, a collection of 14 titles from throughout the yellow mascot’s history, and it’s coming to PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in early 2022. From the original Pac-Man to Pac-in-Time, the bundle of titles focuses on the franchise’s more arcade-y history (sorry, Pac-Man World fans). You can see the full list of titles included in Pac-Man Museum+ below:
- PAC-MAN
- SUPER PAC-MAN
- PAC & PAL
- PAC-LAND
- PAC-MANIA
- PAC-ATTACK
- PAC-IN-TIME
- PAC-MAN ARRANGEMENT Arcade ver.
- PAC-MAN ARRANGEMENT CS ver.
- PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION
- PAC Motos
- PAC’N ROLL REMIX
- PAC-MAN BATTLE ROYALE
- PAC-MAN 256
You’ll navigate the collection through an arcade game center visual interface that can be customized with memorabilia and other decorations. You’ll unlock more items by completing missions that reward coins, with players also able to use the currency to unlock more missions as they progress. With lots of in-game bonuses like this, as well as the promise of Pac-Man titles that aren’t exactly easy to gain access to, Bandai Namco is creating the ultimate collection for classic fans. That said, it would have been nice to see Ms. Pac-Man included here, too.
Pac-Man Museum+ is essentially a beefier version of the bundle Bandai Namco released in 2014, simply titled Pac-Man Museum. Dennis Lee, senior director of Pac-Man business at the company, provided a statement on the announcement: “PAC-MAN is a cultural icon whose enduring popularity continually touches countless lives around the world. It’s truly amazing to be able to pull together a tribute collection featuring some of the most outstanding games in the over 40-year history of the PAC-MAN series. We hope fans and gamers around the world will revisit PAC-MAN and rediscover the bond they may have once shared with him.”
You can watch footage of some of the titles in the Pac-Man Museum+ announcement trailer below. If you’re not a fan of the classic titles, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers still have free access to Pac-Man 99.
