East Coastians will soon have an opportunity to rub elbows with the masterminds behind Penny Arcade’s in NYC early next year.
At special invite, Penny Arcade co-conspirators Mike “Gabe” Krahulik and Jerry “Tycho” Holkins will be the guests of honor at the upcoming New York Comic Con to be held in NYC in February. The highly popular online comic has long been a bastion of geek and gaming humor, and the duo’s latest jaunt hilariously takes them into the gaming realm with their episodic videogame series.
“New York Comic Con welcomes Gabe and Tycho to its 2009 event as the capstone of its gamer program, a program which features names including 2K Games, Activision, Codemasters, EA Mythic, Epic, Hudson, Konami, Sony Online Entertainment, and Ubisoft on our show floor or featured in our panel rooms,” said New York Comic Con show manager Lance Fensterman. “We’re highlighting some of the biggest companies and most-anticipated games of 2009, and we’re very, very happy to welcome the creators of Penny Arcade – the zeitgeist of the gamer community – to sit at the center of these festivities.”
Gabe and Tycho will do signings and panel discussions at the event. Next year’s comic con will be held Feb. 6 through 8 in the Jacob Javits Center in New York, NY. The boys from Penny Arcade will be joining other honored guests, including Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, J. George Perez, Michael Straczynski, and Michael Uslan.
