The digital version will still release on schedule.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s first major expansion, Hearts of Stone, releases tomorrow in its digital form. However, the physical version of the expansion, a boxed edition that was supposed to be sold in America in GameStop, has been delayed “for several days” after launch, CD Projekt Red’s Community Lead and Website Coordinator Marcin Momot announced.
“Dear North American gamers, as you might have heard, we prepared a special boxed edition of Hearts of Stone that was supposed to be sold in GameStop stores all over America,” Momot wrote. “However, it has come to our attention that, due to logistical problems, customers will be unable to obtain the physical edition of the game for several days after launch. We are working with GameStop to fix this situation as soon as possible and deeply apologize for the inconvenience.”
The special edition box set includes the game expansion and real Gwent cards – although anyone who doesn’t want to wait for the box set has the option of ordering the game in its digital form and obtaining the cards separately.
Last week, CD Projekt Red rolled out a massive patch for The Witcher 3, which includes over 600 fixes, including the highly anticipated tweaks to romance dialogue.
