Sony announced a big change to its refund policy on April 1 that allows customers to cancel digital purchases and season passes within 14 days of buying them. The purchases can only be refunded before the content is downloaded or streamed.
Additionally, preorders can now be cancelled up until the gameās release date. If the release date has passed, refunds follow the new rules for digital purchases and season passes.
Sony will only honor refunds outside of these parameters Ā if the content is faulty. However, the definition of what constitutes as āfaultyā was incredibly vague. Judging by the fact that Life of Black Tiger is still available through the PlayStation store, the term is being used pretty liberally.
The policy change is still a step in the right direction. While not helpful for those of us who download our games and add-ons immediately after buying them, the additional flexibility is welcome, especially in regards to preorders. Hopefully this is just the first of many problems that Sonyās online storefront will address.
