Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, Remake, Ubisoft, delay

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Gets Delayed into March

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is seeing a small delay. Citing a desire to “deliver a game you will enjoy,” the new version of the action-adventure game will now release March 21, 2021, two months past its originally scheduled launch date of Jan. 21. The delay comes after the game’s announcement during the most recent Ubisoft Forward digital event. The game generated excitement but also some negativity for what seemed to be some unattractive character models.

The developers at Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai provided the following statement about the delay:

During our Ubisoft Forward digital conference, we proudly announced the return of the Prince with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

We are excited to put this game in your hands, as we retell the story of the Prince of Farah in a reimagined 11th century Persia. However, 2020 has been a year like no other. Today we wanted to let you know that we are taking additional time to work on the game. With that, the release date for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021. We believe this is the right call to ensure we will deliver a game you will enjoy.

Thank you for your patience and continued support for Prince of Persia and we hope you stay safe and healthy this holiday season.

For now, the remake is planned to come to Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Nintendo Switch owners are not without hope, however, as rumors and sales listings have pointed to a launch for the console coming at a later date.
