Adult Swim has released two images for the upcoming and long-awaited Rick and Morty season 4.

It has been a long time since we’ve seen anything new from the show, with the previous season ending way back in October of 2017 and the fourth season not scheduled to land until this November. That being said, these two pictures tell us little except that, yes, Rick will be returning and that, yes, there will be aliens in it. In one Rick appears far more serene than usual as he pulls a Gladiator and runs his hands through some sort of alien plant life. In the other, he’s clearly angry at some lizard aliens who may or may not have destroyed a robot.

The insanely popular series, which has the pop culture clout to allegedly influence a mega-corporation as big as McDonald’s, was renewed by Adult Swim last year for 70 more episodes. That is a prolific amount of episodes for a series that traditionally has had around 10 each season. That renewal and the confidence it brings the show’s creators means we won’t have to wait quite as long between seasons anymore.

There will be more information coming out in the following days on the show as it hosts its SDCC panel on Friday, July 19 at 1 p.m. at the Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Maybe we’ll even get a redux of the show’s fantastic season 3 first episode early release on April Fools’.
