Nintendo Switch rumor new F-Zero X GX game announcement remaster Sylux leak leaker

Rumor: F-Zero Announcement of Some Sort Is in the Works

Nintendo has created some of the most beloved franchises in the world, and it doesn’t treat them all equally. Case in point, compare the number of sequels and reinventions Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda have received compared to Punch-Out!! or, yes, F-Zero. The Nintendo 64 game F-Zero X is available through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, but otherwise, the franchise has been dormant since the Game Boy Advance and GameCube days. However, Nintendo news leaker Sylux claimsĀ an F-Zero announcement of some kind is in the works, though perhaps for something small.

Sylux was recently interviewed on a podcast (via ResetEra), where the person offered the cryptic message, “00110010 00110101 00100000 00110111 00100000 00110010 00100000 00110001 00110110 00100000.” This translates to “YGBP,” which someone deduced to mean “You Got Boost Power!” a phrase fromĀ F-Zero. Sylux subsequently acknowledged that this interpretation is correct, but the leaker added, “Maybe manage your expectations a little.”

Sylux previously leaked the exact release date of Bayonetta 3, as well as when that news would be coming, so this seems like a particularly credible leaker. Presuming this leak is accurate, we probably should not expect the announcement of a brand new F-Zero game on Nintendo Switch, especially since Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa indirectly downplayed the prospect recently. Perhaps a remaster of F-Zero GX from GameCube could be in the works though, or maybe there is a TV show or a movie coming, following the establishment of Nintendo Pictures.
