Secret Invasion official trailer MCU Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury D23

Secret Invasion Trailer Sets up an Intense Marvel Spy Thriller with Nick Fury

At D23, Marvel Studios premiered the first trailer for the Disney+ show Secret Invasion, starring Samuel Jackson’s Nick Fury and streaming in 2023. It is, of course, nice to see Nick Fury back in a story that seems less focused on superpowered heroes, but the footage features more than everyone’s favorite one-eyed special agent. The two-minute trailer also offers our first sneak peek at Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke’s characters, as well as Ben Mendelsohn’s return as Captain Marvel‘s leading Skrull, Talos.

Marvel movies typically blend action, drama, and comedy in a way that leaves many of its projects feeling samey. Secret Invasion, however, seems to lean heavily on the drama side of things, with much of the footage feeling tense as Nick Fury deals with an army of Skrulls. See the first Secret Invasion trailer below.

Nick Fury is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most skilled heroes, but he’ll need to be more than just a one-man army to deal with this new threat. Stay tuned for more Secret Invasion news as we wait for the show to release on Disney+.
