Shazam: Fury of the Gods Trailer Pits Billy Batson’s Family Against Helen Mirren’s Dragon

Shazam is back in the first Shazam: Fury of the Gods trailer, and he has seen all of the Fast and the Furious movies. The stakes are higher than ever though, with Helen Mirren stealing the spotlight in the trailer as the film’s new superpowered villain. Her godlike threat will be met with the power of the Shazam family, which returns after exploding onto the scene during the climax of the first movie from 2019. See Billy Batson’s brothers and sisters take flight to the tune of Eminem’s “Business” in the Shazam: Fury of the Gods trailer below.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods, directed again by David F. Sandberg, is one of DC’s more lighthearted films set to smash into theaters, but the comic book company has more on the way. The next film up to bat is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam, which will touch down on October 21, 2022 and just received new footage today. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash are both on the way for 2023 as well, despite the fact that both films have found themselves oozing with controversy between Amber Heard and Ezra Miller.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods premieres in theaters on December 21, 2022.
