Sonic Prime teaser trailer Big the Cat Shadow the Hedgehog

Sonic Prime Teaser Trailer Reveals a… Big Addition to the Cast

As part of Netflix Geeked Week, Netflix has released a short teaser trailer for animated series Sonic Prime, which is “coming soon.” The Sonic Prime teaser trailer doesn’t reveal much — it’s mostly Sonic the Hedgehog going fast as usual — but it pauses to reveal that Big the Cat and Froggy are part of the series. A tease from the Sonic Central showcase earlier this week had also revealed that Shadow the Hedgehog is in the series, so the cast of confirmed characters is steadily growing.

We have not received any long looks at this series yet. The teaser trailers for Shadow the Hedgehog and Big the Cat are the most ofĀ Sonic Prime we have seen so far. Although, a toy line and costumes for the show have already been announced to arrive in 2023, so Sega and Netflix certainly have plenty of confidence in the show.

This series is an excellent way to continue the momentum gained from the success of the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies. Although, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and a spinoff Paramount+ TV series about Knuckles are already in the works as well. Meanwhile, enthusiasm for the next major game in the series, Sonic Frontiers, is more mixed for various reasons.
