Star Wars Resistance Trailer

Star Wars Resistance Final Season Trailer Is Here, Will Lead into The Rise of Skywalker

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

The second season ofĀ Star Wars Resistance may also be the last season of the show, but that doesn’t mean they’re not going out with a bang. As the new trailer for the season shows, the series is pulling in a ton of familiar bad guys including Kylo Ren, General Hux, and Captain Phasma.

Star Wars Resistance began last year and functioned as a prequel to The Force Awakens, unfolding an adventure that fed into the first film in the newĀ Star Wars trilogy. However, the second season takes place during the events of The Last JediĀ and, notes StarWars.com, before The Rise of Skywalker. The show probably won’t bump too close into the upcoming film, but it is curious they mention it at all. Officially, the story once again focuses on Kazuda Xiono and picks up after “a harrowing escape from the First Order, as [he] and the denizens of the Colossus wind up lost in space, pursued by Agent Tierny and Commander Pyre who have taken Tam Ryvora aboard their ship.”

The cast pulled in to voice the series was already pretty strong, but they’ve brought in some heavyweights this time around with Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike) as Ax Tagrin, Daveed Diggs (original Broadway Hamilton) as Norath Kev, Matthew Wood (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as Kylo Ren, and Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) as the Aeosian Queen.

If you’ve seen the first season all those names make sense; if not, you should catch up before Oct. 6, when the second season premieres on the Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. If you miss that, there will be more airings on Disney XD, and, we’d guess, the show will eventually show up on Disney+.
