A new beta for The Division will launch exclusively on Xbox One this December.
Initially scheduled for release back in 2014, Ubisoft’s open-world cooperative action RPG The Division has been out of the spotlight pretty much ever since a pair of delays pushed it back to a new 2016 release. Many gamers, in turn, have been left wondering how the game is faring and whether or not it will ever actually see the light of day.
Speaking at Microsoft’s E3 presentation today, Ubisoft president Laurent Detoc offered updates on both fronts. First, the company presented gamers with a new trailer aimed at shedding more light on The Division and its back story. After the trailer, Detoc also announced that Xbox One owners will be receiving a special opportunity to sample the game during a platform exclusive beta that will be launching this December.
This news, of course, syncs up with recent reports and rumors that Ubisoft has been prepping an open alpha or beta test for the title.
Suffice it to say that we, and many others, will be eager to see how the game is shaping up after all this time.
The release is slated for March 8, 2016 on all platforms simultaneously.
