Only hours after the first season of The Mandalorian concluded, a second season has been given a release window for later next year. Showrunner Jon Favreau took to Twitter earlier today to reveal that season 2 is scheduled to premiere in fall 2020. What accompanied Favreau’s announcement is an exciting image for longtime Star Wars fans, as the showrunner seems to be teasing the inclusion of the Gamorrean race.

In terms of live-action appearances, the last time Star Wars fans prominently saw these boar-like creatures was when they were stationed as guards at Jabba the Hutt’s palace in Return of the Jedi. While this image doesn’t confirm that Gamorreans will play a large role in the upcoming season, we can at least expect to see them in some capacity.
A year-long wait for the next chapter in The Mandalorian isn’t much of a surprise, but it’s still nice to receive confirmation that fans won’t have to wait too extremely long to see what is next for this new corner of the Star Wars universe.
You will have to wait to hear our spoiler-filled thoughts on today’s finale chapter, but you should know that The Mandalorian’s eighth chapter leaves plenty of possibilities for the future of the show. Until our review for Chapter 8 goes live, be sure to catch up by reading our review of Chapter 7.
