The Mandalorian season 2 trailer The Mandalorian Chapter 4 Sanctuary review Disney+ Disney

The Mandalorian Season 2 Trailer Is Here, Teasing New Adventures

This is the way, and judging by the first trailer for The Mandalorian season 2, the way is going to be really awesome. Disney, after delivering our first look a few days ago, dropped the trailer today for the series, which is landing on Disney+ at the end of October and stars Pedro Pascal and a tiny, adorable green puppet that’s taken over the internet.

The trailer doesn’t give us too much of the overall plot but starts with a riff on the classic Star Wars opening shot of a ship flying onto screen from behind the camera, except this ship isn’t doing quite as well as a Star Destroyer. We’re then treated to some narration that gives us the overall premise of the series while the Mandalorian walks around looking cool and Baby Yoda floats along with him.

Our anti-heroes’ quest from the end of the first season to bring Baby Yoda to his people is taking him to some seedy parts of the galaxy and across the paths of an ancient group of mystics called Jedi. Remember that the show takes place just after the fall of the Empire, so most of the universe still believes the Force is a hokey religion and Jedi aren’t a thing.

It looks like the relationship between Mando and Baby Yoda (more accurately “the Child”) is far more connected. The fantastic and adorable moment when Baby Yoda closes his floating container in preparation for a fight is just fantastic. Even the still frame for the trailer itself shows off a closer relationship between the two.

Season 2 is all set to expandĀ The Mandalorian with elements from the original trilogy and Star Wars: The Clone Wars popping in. Whether these will be small cameos like many of the guest appearances in the first season or larger roles is unclear, but it makes this second season all the more exciting.

The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on Oct. 30.
