Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division have announced that The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos, the second and final DLC expansion for the game, will receive a March 17, 2021 release date for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Murder on Eridanos involves a murder mystery where a famous spokesperson, Halcyon Helen, is killed ahead of the release of a brand new item called Spectrum Brown Vodka. You and your crew must travel across the islands of Eridanos in order to solve this mystery. A new gadget is given to the player, called the Discrepancy Amplifier, which can highlight hints and temporal inconsistencies that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
The floating islands of Eridanos provide a new unique world in Murder on Eridanos for the player to explore, such as the Grand Colonial Hotel and the food corporation Rizzo’s groves. There are also three new science weapons, as well as new weapon and armor variants for players. Additionally, the DLC will increase the player’s level cap by three and will provide new perks and flaws to further customize your character.
The Outer Worlds is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. It is currently unknown when Switch players will receive Murder on Eridanos. Reportedly, a sequel to The Outer Worlds is in pre-production.
