The Simpsons Get the Minecraft Treatment

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

Because you can’t get enough of this stuff, here’s the entire opening sequence of The Simpsons rendered with remarkable fidelity in Minecraft.

Is there anything you can’t do with Minecraft? Sure, tons of stuff obviously, but one thing you can do with it, if you have the time and inclination, is recreate the famous opening sequence of The Simpsons in its entirety. A few corners are cut and Homer, Marge and the gang [especially Maggie] look a little blocky, but it’s all here and will be instantly recognizable to anyone who’s ever watched the show.

There’s no disputing that this is pretty damn awesome, but why? What possesses someone to to something like this? And why is Dewey Largo naked, anyway? I suspect we’ll never know.
