Hey, all you cool cats and kittens. Did you think that the story ofĀ Tiger King was pretty much over with Carole Baskin in charge of Joe Exotic’s zoo and Joe in jail? Well, it’s not. Netflix has announced that it will be dropping a second season of the viral documentary series called Tiger King 2, and it’s landing this year.
Netflix isn’t giving much away about what Tiger King 2 will be about, though there have been a few twists and turns in the story since the show ended.Ā All the description says is that the show is returning for “more madness and mayhem.” The first season was a massive success when it landed in March 2020, partly because it came at the exact time when everyone was being locked down in their houses and needed some escape. The series focused on Joe Exotic, who ran a big cat zoo of sorts in Florida, and his eccentric, law-breaking life and battle with the possibly murderous Carole Baskin. The series will once again be directed by Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin.
As the teaser above shows, Tiger King 2 isn’t the only true-crime series that Netflix is touting as the company dives even deeper into one of its most successful genres. The streamer is also releasing a series called The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman in January 2022, the film The Tinder Swindler in February 2022, the film Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King sometime next year, and the seriesĀ Bad VeganĀ sometimes next year. It’s enough bingable schadenfreude and bad deeds to make anyone feel good about their life.
Tiger King 2 does not have a release date yet, but given the time frame, it should land pretty soon.
