Cybertron is about to fall and Megatron has one last-ditch plan to save the planet: use the AllSpark to reset the Autobots and unify his people. It may sound like Megatron is the hero in the new Netflix Transformers series, Transformers: War for Cybertron, but we all know that can’t be the case. The teased shades of gray in the plot description for this new three-part series seem to be thrown out the window with the first trailer for the first part of the series, subtitled Siege.
Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege focuses solely on the last hours of the war for Cybertron, excusing the pesky humans that often needlessly litter the Transformer films, for a deeper look at the legendary characters of the show. Each part (or season) will be made up of six 22-minute long episodes that, as is the norm with Netflix, will drop all at once, basically making for three 2-hour-long movies. With animation from the groundbreaking Rooster Teeth studios, that should be six hours of stunning visuals and awesome action.
The cast features noted mimic Jake Foushee as Optimus Prime, meaning Peter Cullen’s true baritone won’t be gracing us. Alongside him are Jason Marnocha (Megatron),Ā Linsay Rousseau (Elita-1), Joe Zieja (Bumblebee), Frank Todaro (Starscream), Rafael Goldstein (Ratchet), Keith Silverstein (Jetfire), Todd Haberkorn (Shockwave, Red Alert), Edward Bosco (Ultra Magnus, Soundwave), Bill Rogers (Wheeljack), Sophia Isabella (Arcee), Brook Chalmers (Impactor), Shawn Hawkins (Mirage), Kaiser Johnson (Ironhide), Miles Luna (Teletraan I, Cliffjumper), and Mark Whitten (Sideswipe, Skywarp).
Netflix has not announced a release date for Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege yet.
