Ubisoft has revealed Ubisoft Connect, an online service that connects players across different gaming platforms. The new “ecosystem,” as the publisher calls it on its website, offers an environment for those that enjoy Ubisoft games to keep in touch but most importantly allows for cross-saves for future titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and more. The service launches next week on Oct. 29 alongside Watch Dogs: Legion.
The global network presented by Ubisoft Connect brings PC and console players together by letting users see what friends are playing, how well they’re playing, and what achievements they’ve unlocked. The service also features Smart Intel, which can give players unique tips based on their specific play style. Another feature is an update feed that puts a spotlight on all things Ubisoft, including seasons, challenges, rewards, and more.
Ubisoft Connect will replace the publisher’s long-running Uplay platform, which previously allowed for similar interconnectivity. Uplay also incentivized play by offering a point system that players could use to unlock in-game rewards. Ubisoft Connect promises a similar feature, saying that you’ll be able to earn rewards by increasing your “Unit” count. Essentially, this new service aims to be an improved, next-gen version of the network that preceded it.
You’ll be able to sign up for the service for free next week, plenty of time in advance of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Nov. 10.
