Spider-Man Director Will Introduce Fantastic Four to MCU in New Film

Fantastic Four movie Jon Watts film director MCU Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Fantastic Four are finally arriving in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the Fox/Disney merger, one of the biggest questions was when Marvel would save the first family of comics from their dire cinematic fate. It still won’t be anytime soon, but we finally have confirmation a film is coming and that Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts is directing it.

The news came during a bombardment of announcements that were delivered on Disney’s earnings call. Feige announced it saying that the film was in development and that Watts had been tapped to direct but gave no other details.

Despite some other moves to Disney+ made during the call, the Marvel films are sticking to theatrical releases. So it should be assumed that whenever this film lands, it will be theatrical as well.
