The Batmobile Is Revealed for Matt Reeves’ The Batman

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Director Matt Reeves has given us our first look at The Batman’s take on the Batmobile. Robert Pattinson can be seen suited up next to the iconic vehicle in the pictures that were posted to Twitter today. Though there is little else revealed besides the Batmobile itself, there’s a lot to unpack here, so take a look for yourself.

This homemade look that Reeves has showed off in the past definitely carries over with the Batmobile, as in some ways, Batman’s legendary ride really does just look like a souped-up car with some slick black paint. Regardless, this Batmobile is still just as intimidating as anyone could hope for, especially considering the film reportedly takes place during Bruce Wayne’s second year as Batman. Judging based on the low-tech feel of everything we’ve seen so far, you can probably expect a similar visual style for the rest of The Batman’s cast, too.

Reeves hasn’t been shy on Twitter when it comes to sharing new information about the upcoming Batman movie. Pattinson was given quite the dramatic spotlight when the Batsuit was first revealed last month, setting the tone for things to come. Then not long after that, a video and pictures leaked onto the internet, giving us a brighter look at both the costume and the new Batcycle.

Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Zoe Kravitz, and more big names have already been confirmed for the movie, but stay tuned for further updates as the film continues shooting.

The Batman is scheduled to release June 25, 2021.
