Jamie Lee Curtis Joins Cast of Borderlands Movie
Jamie Lee Curtis has joined the cast of the upcoming Borderlands movie. Curtis will appear as Dr. Patricia Tannis, a scientist/archaeologist who is found across all three main Borderlands games. The Borderlands film is set to be directed by Eli Roth and will also star Kevin Hart and Cate Blanchett. Notably, the film is written by Emmy award-winning Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. The film is based on the hit Gearbox video game series.

Grand Theft Auto V Has Sold Over 140 Million Copies
Today, Take-Two Interactive reported its financial results for Q3 2021, revealing that Grand Theft Auto V has surpassed 140 million copies sold since its launch in 2013. This is up from 135 million units Take-Two reported during its Q1 2021 results. In total, Take-Two reported $860.9 million in revenue for this current quarter, $728.5 million of which was attributed to digital spending.

Deck13 Studio Montreal Opened by Focus Home Interactive
According to Gamasutra, Focus Home Interactive has opened up a new subsidiary Deck13 studio in Montreal, which will work alongside the main HQ in Germany. This secondary studio is helping develop a new unannounced project, set to launch in 2022. Deck13 is best known for its work on Lords of the Fallen, The Surge, and The Surge 2. Deck13 Managing Director Mathias Reichert stated, “Deck13 Studio Montreal will allow us to strengthen our knowledge and integrate new visions, cultures, and know-how that will undoubtedly take the studio to the next level.”

PlayStation 5 Will Launch in China in Q2 2021
As revealed by Sony (and relayed by analyst Daniel Ahmad), PlayStation 5 will officially launch in China in Q2 2021. Prior to the PS5 launching in many territories last year, preorders were taken in China but were by scalpers for imports that could cost three-to-four times the price. A video tweeted by Ahmad can be seen below, featuring SIE Shanghai’s Tatsuo Eguchi and Soeda Takehito discussing PlayStation 5’s launch in mainland China.

Final Fantasy VII Remake News Will Be Revealed During Orchestra Concert
A Final Fantasy VII Remake orchestra concert will air this weekend, and as revealed by the game’s co-director Motomu Toriyama, the event will feature news about Final Fantasy VII Remake. A video from Toriyama can be seen below (as translated by Twitter user @aitaikimochi) with news that “there will be a few things about FF7R that will be revealed only during this concert.”
It’s unclear what will be revealed, but fans have speculated it could be news about the second part of Final Fantasy VII Remake or even an announcement about a PlayStation 5 version. The Final Fantasy VII Remake orchestra concert will air on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. Japan time (3 a.m. EST).
