God of War Creator David Jaffe Says Sony Is Developing a “Counterpunch” to Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has gotten a lot of praise recently due to the success of Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service that grants users with lots of games for a monthly fee. Sony may be working on something to compete with Game Pass, at least according to David Jaffe, the creator of God of War. During Jaffe’s podcast (as transcribed by VGC) he said, “What I can tell you is I know they are doing some stuff because I know people at Sony who have told me that they are doing some stuff.” Jaffe also referred to Sony’s supposed upcoming service as a “counterpunch” to Game Pass and urges fans not to rule out the company just yet. Some, however, are skeptical of Jaffe’s knowledge of the situation, and he is not directly connected to God of War anymore.
