Ubisoft announced today that the online component of Watch Dogs: Legion is receiving a March 9 release date. The free online mode is a separate standalone option from the main campaign. You’ll start out in a new section of London in order to build a new branch of DeadSec.
In order to recruit new members, you need to spend Influence points, which can also be used to upgrade weapons and gadgets. To earn Influence points, players must rank up duringĀ Watch Dog: Legion online seasons by completing daily and weekly challenges or solo assignments throughout the map.
Co-op missions are offered too, where two-to-four players can participate in taking out enemies or coordinating hacks together. As you earn more gear, you can take on the challenging Tactical Ops missions. These missions require intense teamwork and coordination to complete, and if even one team member is eliminated, then the entire squad has to start over from the beginning. Each Tactical Ops mission is split into five sections and offers checkpoints after each one, so players don’t have to complete the entire mission in one sitting.
The PvP Spiderbot Arena allows up to four players to fight against each other in a free-for-all deathmatch with spiderbots. Mystery boxes are placed around the arena, and picking them up provides powerful weapons like missiles and lasers. Defeating multiple enemies without dying grants killstreaks such as a radar, a shield, or a weapons charge. Whoever racks up the most eliminations at the end of the six-minute round is declared the winner.
The online mode forĀ Watch Dogs: Legion was originally planned to launch last year but was delayed until early 2021, which we now have an official release date for. Watch Dogs: Legion is available on Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
