Wave Race 64 joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack N64 library August 19, 2022 release date

Wave Race 64 Joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack This Week

Nintendo announced that Wave Race 64 will join the Nintendo 64 library of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on August 19, 2022. The water racing game originally launched in 1996 to a positive critical and fan reception, and now a new generation will be able to indulge in its Championship Mode, Time Trials, Stunt Mode, and 2P VS. Mode.

Here is how Nintendo describes Wave Race 64 ahead of its inclusion in Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack this week:

Wave Race 64 features nine challenging courses set across scenic locales. Go airborne with dolphins on the golden shores of Sunset Bay, cruise under the bright lights and tall buildings of Twilight City, feel the crashing waves on Sunny Beach or chill out on the frigid waters of Glacier Coast, just to name a few. Plus, racing conditions will change with the weather, making the water choppy or covering the course with fog. The waves will even respond to the way that you and your rivals move!

As a reminder, the Expansion Pack tier of Nintendo Switch Online costs considerably more than the basic tier, but it includes Nintendo 64 games, Sega Genesis games, and free DLC expansions for select titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Prior to Wave Race 64, PokĆ©mon Puzzle League joined the NSO Expansion Pack tier last month. Meanwhile, the basic tier of NSO received Daiva Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia for NES and Kirbyā€™s Avalanche and Fighterā€™s History last month.
