Warning: The following article explaining Brad Wolfe, AKA Hunter X-5, in Marvel’s Loki Season 2 contains spoilers.
Loki Season 2 is officially halfway through its second season, and boy has it been a doozy so far. We’ve got new characters, old characters doing scary new things, and more high concept sci-fi elements than you can tilt your spectacles at, but where is it all going? Like you, we have absolutely no idea. However, we do suspect that whatever comes to pass will heavily involve Brad Wolfe/Hunter X-5 (played by Rafael Casal), a new (to most) face who actually has deep roots in the Thor comics.
Who Is Brad Wolfe/X-5 in the Comics
Created by Doug Moench and Keith Pollard, Wolfe debuted in 1982’s Thor #319. Wolfe is an actor who ends up bonding with a magical entity — originally sent by the Doctor Strange baddie Dormammu — and becomes a monstrous creature called Zaniac. Rather chillingly, Wolfe’s real-life descent into madness echoes the arc of the fictional character who catapulted him to stardom: the serial killer Zaniac.

In his superhuman form, Wolfe possesses enhanced strength and dramatically increased durability, as well as the ability to conjure and throw energy knives. He typically functions as a member of Thor’s rogues gallery.
Who Is Brad Wolfe in Loki
Loki Season 2 introduces Wolfe as a TVA Hunter gone rogue, a guy who wants to carve out a life for himself on the timeline. The life he’s going with? An actor playing the lead role in the film Zaniac. Wink wink.
We don’t know exactly where Brad Wolfe will end up in Loki Season 2, but the stage is certainly set for him to become a standout new character in the MCU.
