Xbox 360 Breaks Sales Records In Australia

This article is over 18 years old and may contain outdated information

According to sales data gathered since the system launch in March, the Xbox 360 has become the best selling game system ever launched in Australia.

Though relatively small by the standards of Europe or North America, the 100,000 Xbox 360 systems sold since March in Australia make Microsoft’s system the best selling console yet for the country, breaking the previous record of just under 80,000 units sold by the PS2 over the same time period.

According to Daniel Morse, senior account manager at GfK Australia, “Our figures show that Xbox 360 has been the fastest ever console to sell 100,000 units in Australia, reaching that mark in just seven months.” 30,000 of those units were sold in just the first four days of the launch.
